In summer 2026, SOFRALL, our Southern France Living Lab, held its first activities for farmers: two technical webinars led by Biosphères, with Agri Sud-Ouest Innovation taking part as Living Lab leader.
Soil and organic matter (July 2026)
The first webinar started from the results of soil analyses and turned them into a practical question for each farm: which organic inputs should be used? Four farmers took part.
Cover crops in annual crops (August 2026)
The second webinar, “Establishment and destruction of plant cover in annual crops”, looked at how to establish cover crops and how to end them in annual cropping systems. Five farmers took part.
What farmers said
Farmers found the webinars very interesting and said they matched their expectations. Two participants shared their views by phone after the first session:
“It was really interesting; it was exactly what I expected.” — Cyrill Duffaut, farmer, SOFRALL Living Lab
“That was a really interesting webinar yesterday. The content raised lots of questions and made me want to go back and review the soil analyses.” — Chrystel Lacz, farmer, SOFRALL Living Lab
Why it matters
These webinars are SOFRALL’s first activities organised for its farmers. They respond to practical questions farmers face in the field: how to read soil analyses, which organic inputs to choose, and how to manage cover crops in annual crops.
